A perfect introduction to blacksmithing as a craft, this course will cover the basic of heating and shaping steel, techniques that are present in all levels of blacksmithing.  In this weekend class students will be introduced to skills including tapering, shouldering, bending, punching, twisting, and upsetting.  Exposure to the pace of working the metal, understanding the forge and the tools used will provide the beginner the interest and experience to take blacksmithing further.

Cancellation policy for workshops: Student must notify Louisiana ArtWorks a minimum of three days in advance of the workshop in order to receive a full refund. A refund of 50% will be given for cancellation 2 days in advance.
