Printing with Glitter! with Meg Turner

How do you make a print look so amazing you wish it was food so you could eat it??? Add glittter! this one-day workshop goes through the basics of exposing a screen and printing a color, but with the added twist of printing with sparkly awesomeness. warning: you will leave covered in glitter, and any place you take those prints will leave a trail of fairy dust.
Provided: Screens, proof Paper, Basic Inks and Glitter
Bring: a drawing on acetate or a photocopy to coat with oil. fancy paper if you want it.
For Purchase: Rives BFK or Japanese Washi or Neenah Duplex Paper.
Introduction to Lithography with Blake Sanders
Saturdays Feb 27th & March 6th & 13th 1pm-5pm
Lithography was invented by Sennefelder in 1795 and took the art world by storm with its abilities to reproduce a fantastic range of subtle gray tones – exactly like a charcoal or ink wash drawing. Learn from Blake Sanders, art teacher at Tulane University the basics of plate lithography: using wax crayons and tusche washes to create your own beautiful editions on our giant lithography press. Must attend all three sessions! Will also cover: Photo-litho (making a plate from a transparency and Pronto-plates that you can make on your home printer or just with a pen!
Bring: a drawing or idea to work from
Provided: Inks, plates, acid, newsprint

Dry-Point Workshop with Jeremy Pelt
A very direct form of intaglio, dry point forgos acid, and involves drawing directly into a plate to create a dark rich line. using plexiglass or copper, this 3 day workshop will take you through the basics of drawing with etching tools, inking plates for different effects, soaking paper and using the etching press. come with a drawing and leave with a unique edition!
Bring: a new drawing to work from

Of its four studios, The Louisiana ArtWorks’ Community Printshop is arguably its most beautiful! With twenty foot ceilings and huge windows along two walls there is abundant natural light. The shop has welcomed a new manager and is gathering a base of dedicated shop members to keep the shop open late, and humming with activity and classes.
