The Louisiana ArtWorks Studio Residency Program provides serious artists with the vital creative resource of studio space while enriching our local community through public interaction and fresh, innovative perspectives. Our building contains a total of 19 individual studios on the 2nd and 3rd floors of our facility.
Studio Residency Program participants have 24/7 access to their studio spaces and may purchase uninstructed time in any of the Louisiana ArtWorks shops at a 20% discount, including glass-working, ceramics, printmaking, and metal shop/foundry. Artists wishing to work in one of the four shops must first enroll in our 101 instructional classes, which are a prerequisite to usage. Artists-in-residence also receive a 20% discount off of all Louisiana ArtWorks workshops and classes. Four yearly site visits by art professionals provide residency participants with increased visibility and the potential for career advancement.
Louisiana ArtWorks offers the following residencies:
Area: Ten studios are available free of charge to area artists, for one year.
Extended Stay Area: Five studios are available as rentals ranging from $143.00 to $357.50 per month, for terms of one to three years. Studios open or roll over to the next year according to artist-in-residence’s preference.

National: Two studios are available free of charge to artists outside the State of Louisiana for periods of three weeks to three months.
